Poem | Eagle Wings Were Made to Fly
Fly by Antoinette Brooks
This is a five minute poem inspired by Langston Hughes' Dreams.
If we analyse Hughes poem we find
- two verses
- each verse has four lines
- the first three words of the first verse is repeated in the second
Here's my five minute poem, inspired by Langston Hughes
Eagle Wings Were Made to Fly
Let go of those who do not care
For if you stubbornly hold on
You'll waste life like that unlearning one
Who always flings itself beyond
Let go of those who do not care
For if you wave them bye
You'll soar unshackled from their grasp
Remember. Eagle-wings were made to fly

I am a fairytale maker...
A storyteller, poet and illustrator who loves sharing stories, both true and created, with people just like you...
